ABOUT US
Model aircraft have been flown at the ANZAC Range at Malabar Headland in Sydney, Australia, since the 1920's.
Sydney Model Aero Club Inc has operated from the ANZAC Rifle Range since 1982 and is affiliated with the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia through Aeromodellers NSW.
The focus of the club is the flying of radio-controlled model aircraft with the objective of providing the opportunity for members to safely fly their model aircraft in both recreational and competitive flying arena.

WHERE WE OPERATE
Sydney Model Aero Club inc. operates at the Anzac Rifle Range from a flying field registered with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
Entrance to the site is at the eastern end of Franklin Street, Malabar.
Drive to the end of Franklin St and proceed through the gate and up to the NSW Rifle Association building where you turn left and then immediately right onto the road leading out to the field gate.
Please observe the 20 km/h speed limit.
When We Operate
The club field is available to members on weekdays and every second Sunday when conditions allow from 8 am.
Flying model aircraft is affected by the weather (especially wind), so it is not always possible to fly on a particular day.

Sunscreen and Water are Essential!
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own shade and seating.Toilets are available at the main range buildings.
LEARNING TO FLY
The club has qualified instructors and training aircraft available to anybody who wants to have a go. Training of new members is by appointment.
Flying skills are taught by the club's experienced members either with the club's training aircraft or the novice pilot's aircraft. Teaching is done with the club's buddy box (dual control) control system.
National proficiency accreditation is available to members by the club's certified instructors.
The club encourages prospective members to talk to us before purchasing equipment.
The latest coolest plane may not be the one that is best to learn with.
